I have an exciting opportunity to share my story. It was one year ago that I received an emergency call that my mother had been taken to the hospital and possibly had a stroke. Her close friend who called me… told me she was there for Mom. She advised me to take a day or two to prepare myself (before I make the 600 mile drive) because there was no way my mother could return to her home in the state it was in.

Mom’s friend gave me sound advice. I took 2 days to plan, make critical calls, line up appointments and educate myself on issues, challenges and options for the elderly, and then I made the 12 hour drive from Indiana to Maryland. The drive gave me time to think and transition from the known into the unknown!

So mark your calendars for my 30 minute interview with Viki Kind, bioethicist and medical educator. Call-in questions will be answered!

Topic: “When you get the call that your parent is sick”
Time: May 5th, 11am PDT; 2pm EDT
