[...] Started by a Dale Carter, a long-distance caregiver to her mother, Transition Aging Parents offers in-the-know advice for the adult children who find that an aging parent needs their help. Carter brings together information about caregiving—from books to software to new information on dealing with diseases like Alzheimer’s. Ms. Carter covers it all—with a no-nonsense approach and with a great attention to the details. Her postings run the gamut from the practical (Five Reasons You Should Contact an Ombudsmen for Your Aging Parent) to the social and emotional needs of elders, with a discussion on how profound an impact a conversation with elderly people can have in our lives, to information on medical issues affecting the elderly, such as a preventable type of dementia.
Kaye,
I am proud of you; that is a very creative strategy!
My husband told me today his company just completed and opened a full-service gym at their location. It is open until 9pm each night and also on Saturdays, and spouses can use the facility as well. To us, it shows his company is committed to employees and their good health. I love good news, don't you?

Hi Dale, great article! You'll be very proud of me. I've started making it a habit to immediately head for the door to walk around the block, over and over, whenever I get a phone call from kids and grandkids (usually at least once a day). Just finished 10 times around the big block today! Great for working on my cholesterol! :) :) :) Thanks for the good tips! :)
