I think finding ways to help make the holiday's fun for those in your family who are in their later years really can be memorable. I remember looking back on when I celebrated Christmas 2 years ago for the last time with my grandpa. It is something I will never forget and I now looking back truly appreciate all that he did to make traditions and keep us as a family together. It's a lot harder now, and I don't know what we are going to be doing this year for Christmas, but looking back I had some wonderful memories of Christmas because of my grandpa.

The best advice I can offer is for you or them to call their local Area on Aging office.
I know you say they're middle-aged. Still this office knows community resources and can suggest the best places for them to turn to for help.
I got on the www.eldercare.gov site and found this information for them.
Office Phone : (352) 378-6649
Information Phone : (800) 262-2243
Website : http://www.agingresources.org
Contact Email : longmorek@agingresources.org

I know a middle aged couple whom are recipients of SSI,due to their limited income they could use some help this Christmas. This couple does not drive and they have no family members living in FL.These people feel sadden as if no one really cares about them or their needs. I know some of their needs are: Food, Hygiene Items,Pet supplies for Fido & Tom Tom.People have asked why do they have pets in their present situation, the pets are their therapy! If you can find someone willing to open their hearts to this couple. I know it will be appreciated! The address for them is: 7850 SE. 22ND Ave. Ocala,Fl.34480 Merry Christmas & God Bless
